Wanted to make something good on this snowy day and banana bread sounded perfect! My roommate also had this fancy heart pan which worked out so well with Valentine’s Day around the corner.
1.5 tsp baking soda
.5 tsp salt
1.5 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt (I used dannon light & fit)
2 ripe bananas
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup mini dark chocolate chips
** Mix in optional toppings like walnuts or raisins!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease pan (9×5). Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl combine eggs, yogurt, brown sugar, mashed bananas, and maple syrup. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until you can poke it with a fork and it comes out clean. Enjoy!
